Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick

 Letter of St James 5:14-15

“Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will save the sick man, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven”

Any Catholic who is ill or infirm may wish to advice our parish priest of his/her situation, so that he may come to visit.   Where appropriate, the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick may be administered.

Holy Communion for the Sick?

Holy Communion is received ordinarily as part of the Eucharistic celebration.  No one is obliged to receive Holy Communion outside Mass, but those who cannot be at Mass for a period of time because of illness and infirmity may request Holy Communion to be brought to them.
